Oakridge Animal Clinic Wooden Racquets Championships

The eight annual wooden racquets tournamement was played January 12, 2013.  The one day singles and doubles tournament and it's unique rules was a hit again.
To get the players out early, Chef Yoda was on hand to create omeletes made to order for breakfast.  The doubles event has matches lasting exactly 15 minutes and thus there were 36 matches in 9 hours to detemine the A, B, C D champions.  The singles event is played using a doubles ball on the wide court to emulate the feel of the hardball game.  Singles matches have to be played between the prescheduled doubles matches and A & B championships with a consulation were played.
The sponsors, Tyrrel de Langley – Oakridge Animal Clinic, Chris Lewis – Giffen & Partners, Marcus Plowright – Anden Construction, Darryl Saari – Cherryhill Family Dentistry & Creemore Springs Brewery, provided funding to be able to serve Breakfast, Lunch, Beer and vintage Port with all the trimmings.
